From Reading to Living: How can we contextualize and live out the messages of the Quran in our lives?
“This is a blessed Book which We revealed to you, that they may reflect upon its verses, and those with understanding may take heed.” (38:29)
The Quran is the ever-living Word of God, revealed to our beloved Messenger Muhammad SAW as a guide for all people and all time. But it can be challenging to understand how the Quran can directly inform our lives, especially when concepts, phrases, and even stories seem to reference historical contexts which may be unfamiliar to many of us. Sometimes when we read, we must rely on translations to understand the Quran, and even then, we can find ourselves confused, feeling detached, or even overwhelmed by the interpretations presented to us. This Ramadan, as we listen and read the Quran, how can we develop the practical skills to apply its meanings into our lives throughout the rest of the year, and beyond?
Please come with a notebook, a pen, and your own water bottle. Tea and snacks will be served as usual. Please arrive on time— we will open the doors after Taraweeh for tea time and then begin the main program after promptly after Isha, insha’Allah.
We welcome all members of our community over 21 to attend this event! As we provide free tea and snacks, we ask that if you are able, to please purchase a ticket and/or gift a donation to allow us to keep this event free and accessible to ADAMS Young Adults and Young Professionals! May Allah SWT reward you all and may He continue to protect and bless our community.
