Nesreen Selim is a multimedia artist and the founder of Nesreen Designs LLC. She creates a mix of abstract art, landscapes, Islamic-inspired pieces, and symbolic collages, often using materials like watercolor, ink, recycled fabric, and whatever feels right in the moment.
Nesreen has a background in Interior Architecture and Graphic Design and sees art as more than just a creative outlet— it's a way to process emotions and heal. She is passionate about art therapy and using the creative process to express what words sometimes can’t.
Her art is currently on display in Qahwa Cafe.
Open to attendees 16+ and featuring a brief talk where Nesreen will discuss her personal painting process and inspiration, the main event consists of an art therapy workshop where, through intuitive sketching and mixed-media layering, participants will be guided through a creative journey that gives form to their emotions through art.
This workshop will encourages self-expression, self-awareness, and emotional release in a gentle, accessible way. Each person’s work will be different—because every feeling and story is different. Attendees will use be using real-world objects (like leaves, windows, clouds, or flowers) as symbols to represent emotions and states of mind, with guidance and inspiration provided throughout the session. The end result will be a personal piece that carries emotional meaning and insight which attendees will of course be able to take home with them!
Prints by Nesreen Selim will also be available for purchase after the event!
Workshop Tickets - $15 (which will be used to cover the cost of materials).
Additionally, donations are always appreciated to help fund future Qahwa events!
