About the Artist
Zainab Ahmed is inspired by Islamic geometry and architecture. She explores traditional patterns and forms through Kufic Calligraphy, Jharoka clay tiles, and geometric designs, as well as through pastel landscapes that offer a softer balance.
To her, art is a way to find calm and reconnect. She uses symmetry, repeating patterns, and color to blend her cultural heritage with personal expression, creating works that invite reflection and serenity.
The event will begin with a brief, welcoming talk where Zainab shares her personal drawing process and inspiration. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop where attendees will create Islamic geometric patterns using only a compass, pencil, and paper. Original pieces created by Zainab will also be available for purchase after the event.
