Join Qahwa Cafe and the George Mason MSA for a hands-on Tareez Workshop in honor of Watermelon Week!

Led by Tala of Bint Falasteen, a professional with Palestinian roots, learn the art of Tatreez: A centuries-old form of Palestinian embroidery. Discover the history and cultural significance behind this tradition, after which you will stitch your own vibrant patterns onto fabric! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced embroiderer, don't miss out on this a unique opportunity to connect with heritage and resistance through craft!

Open to attendees 18+, registration is mandatory, with over 60% of ticket sales going towards the Watermelon Week Relief Fund with the Human Development Fund!  All additional donations also go towards Watermelon Week, so don't miss out on this chance to have fun AND make a difference!  We will see you there!

About Tala

Tala is the founder of Bint Falasteen.  She grew up immersed in Palestinian Tatreez and the art is one of her favorite forms of resistance.  She can't wait to pass on the skill to others!
