Join us for this 2-part series of on Apathy vs Action led by Ustadh Osamah Saleh where we navigate the emotional weight of what is happening in the world around us. The focus is not political analysis, but how to deal with grief, anger, helplessness, and exhaustion in a way that keeps the heart alive, grounded in Allah, and moves us toward meaningful action.
Week 1 explores what to do when the Heart Feels Heavy as we discuss the nature of apathy, being overwhelm, and emotional shutdown through a spiritual lens as well as learning how to protect the heart from becoming hardened or desensitized.
In Week 2, we will challenge ourselves to move from Helplessness to Faithful Action as we explore how to overcoming paralysis and despair toward hope, sabr, and sustainable action rooted in faith.
Featuring a talk and discussions, the event will begins at new time of 7:00 and takes place in Qawha Cafe.
The latest session in our weekly series for young working professionals ages 21+ on contemporary issues through spiritual lens. One ticket covers both sessions and it is highly encouraged to purchase one if able to help estimate audience size. The difference between healthy limits vs. apathy
Spiritual anchors: dhikr, dua, companionship, intentional boundaries, honest grief
How to stay soft-hearted without burning out
Week 2 - Direct the Heart
“What’s the point? What can I even do?”
Hope in Islam as grounded trust, not denial or shallow optimism
Sabr and passivity vs righteous anger and emotional burnout
Meaningful actions like worship, charity, service, civic action, community care
Responding in a steady, spiritually healthy way

Osamah Saleh has been a contributing member of ADAMS for many years. He holds a Bachelors in Management Information Systems and a graduate certificate in Imam Education from Hartford International University. He is a regular Khateeb and involved in youth work.
