About Omar Farooq

Omar Farooq was born and raised in the ADAMS Center Community and is the current Programs Manger of the Qahwa Cafe in Sterling Virginia and Chairman of the Mafiq Foundation's Muslim Youth Debate Tournament. He graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Environmental Science and is passionate about building the identities of Muslims in America by leveraging their own unique skills and interests. Because one should never discard the gifts that Allah gave you and instead use those passions in service of Him and in those around you.

Omar considers Star Wars to be one of the greatest pieces of art man has ever produced. For some reason, he feels this fact important enough to include in his bio, likely because he is keenly interested in the deeper moral messages that can be gleaned from stories, both fictional and otherwise. He asks that you keep him and his family in your duas.
