Women's Self Defense Workshop

  • 46903 Sugarland Rd Sterling, VA 20164 USA (map)

Join us for a practical, empowering women’s self-defense workshop designed to help build confidence, awareness, and real-world skills in a supportive environment.

Whether you have never trained before or already have some experience, this workshop will introduce simple, effective techniques and principles that can help you feel more prepared and capable of protecting yourself.

The workshop will cover situational awareness, setting and maintaining boundaries, responding under pressure, and practical physical techniques for common self-defense situations. Participants will learn basic striking fundamentals, defensive movement, and ways to respond when grabbed or confronted at close range. The focus is not on complicated techniques or athletic ability, but on realistic skills that are easy to understand, practice, and remember.

We’ll cover:

  • Situational awareness and recognizing potential threats

  • Using your voice, posture, and boundaries with confidence

  • Basic striking techniques and defensive movement

  • Practical responses to grabs and close-range situations

  • Creating space, escaping, and getting to safety

  • Hands-on practice in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment

Open to sisters ages 16+, all tickets include a complimentary free drink from Qahwa Cafe. No prior martial arts or fitness experience is required. Come ready to learn, move, ask questions, and leave with greater confidence and practical tools you can continue building on.
