This is an introductory, hands-on class for anyone interested in learning the art of chain embroidery. Students will learn a simple yet versatile stitch that can be connected and repeated to create beautiful floral patterns, decorative designs, and unique embroidered pieces.

No prior embroidery experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and willingness to learn! Throughout the workshop, you'll discover a traditional embroidery technique while building confidence, patience, and an appreciation for the timeless craft of hand stitching.

All are welcome—whether you're completely new to embroidery or simply looking for a relaxing, creative afternoon. Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Donations are also always appreciated to help support future Qahwa events!

Nawida Dawari is an inspiring Afghan artist whose creative journey beautifully weaves together painting, calligraphy, henna, traditional chain and paliwar embroidery. She draws heartfelt inspiration from her rich cultural heritage, the colorful beauty of nature, and intricate ornamental designs. Through her engaging chain embroidery workshop, she will share a simple yet versatile stitch that can be connected and repeated to craft a wide variety of stunning patterns and designs. By making this cherished traditional technique easy to learn, she encourages creativity, patience, and confidence while celebrating the timeless art of hand embroidery and passing on its beauty to the new generation.
