Join us for a special Friday Night event on the story of Ibraheem (A) and the importance of sacrifice!
Based on the stylings of our popular Ramadan Nights series, this special Dul Hijah event features Ustaadah Kouthar Muttardy and Othman Altalib as they explore the meaning of true sacrifice through the story of Prophet Ibraheem (A)!
Across the world, millions of Muslims are currently preforming Hajj, the pilgrimage every believer must make. We do this in part to honor the life of Prophet Ibraheem (A), a life that exemplified sacrifice in all its stages. And it was not just Prophet Ibraheem (A) who exemplified this noble quality, it was also exemplified by his wives, his children, and his descendants.
Through the narrative thread of Prophet Ibraheem (A)'s life, Ustaadah Kouthar and Othman Altalib will speak to the necessary importance of sacrifice and how his life can be used as a guide for us realize sacrifice in our own lives, the sacrifices that are both external and internal, public and private, convenient and costly, all in service of attaining a higher station with God.
Doors open at 10:45pm with the main event beginning at 11pm in the Main Musallah. Featuring a talk and discussion circles, registration is free, but donations are strongly encouraged to help us fund future events! Tickets will be capped at 600 due to spacing limitations.
Open to young adults ages 18+, absolutely all are welcome and greatly look forward to your attendance to this unique and special event!
About Ustaadah. Kouthar Muttardy
Kouthar Muttardy was born and grew up in Northern Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in human development from George Mason University and has completed a Master of Arts in education from Marymount University. Kouthar has worked as a K-12 teacher, teacher trainer, & curriculum development specialist for over 20 years.
Ustadha Kouthar has been studying traditional Islamic sciences including tajwid, tafsir, aqeedah, seerah, hadith, and Hanbali & Shafi’i fiqh since high school. Kouthar completed her Islamic Studies Teacher Certification at the Ribaat Academic Institute in 2020 and is currently in pursuit of a doctoral degree in Islamic Studies.
